Garth Brooks Makes Surprise Appearance At George Strait’s Benefit Concert For Texas Flood Victims

At the Strait to the Heart benefit concert in Boerne, Texas on Sunday night (July 27), fans were surprised when unannounced special guest Garth Brooks took the stage, performing a heartfelt acoustic rendition of “Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)” and a moving version of “The Dance.” The intimate fundraiser for Texas flood victims was organized by country music legend George Strait, which was attended by only 1,000 fans who generously paid upwards of $1,000 for tickets. The event also featured performances by William Beckmann, Ray Benson, Wade Bowen, Dean Dillon, Riley Green, Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson, Kyle Park, and Hudson Westbrook, with one of the night’s many highlights being a duet by Strait and Brooks on “The Fireman,” which honored first responders. The event raised $6.25 million to support families affected by the devastating July 4 floods in Kern County, Texas, with the concert serving as one of several efforts to aid flood victims in the Texas Hill Country.
